December 29, 2014

This week was amazing, on Christmas Eve we ate with 3 families, wow! I have never ate so much food in my life haha! but things were good I had a good experience. On Christmas day I opened my presents my family sent me and that was really fun. Later in the day I called my family! WOW a lot of love! I love them so much, I wanted to talk for more time but we couldn't. We talked on face time. Things are good and I just want to wish everyone else a Merry Christmas. This Sunday, we woke up at 6 to prepare for church. We left the home really early so we could get our investigators to church, well with a lot of disappointment because we did all we could but they couldn't come, we left to church.  In the middle of sacrament meeting our investigator Dora showed up! she was very exited, and Elder De Jesus and I were very happy; we had a lesson with her after church and she is extremely happy with this church and wants to be baptized ! wow she is golden! so we are helping her with that right now. Sunday was a really great day!(: Take care friends and family i love you all(:

Christmas week!!!
I'm so exited for this amazing week! Things will definitely be amazing! I get the chance to call my amazing family on Thursday and see how things are doing with the family haha(: Well this week was awesome! On Tuesday we had our Christmas program for the mission. We only had two zones; the Grijalva Zone and the Mactumezta Zone, which was a lot of fun! I finally got to say hi to a friend in the mission! Her name is Hermana Wilson. We played the violin together in High school, and it was pretty weird seeing her here and saying hi, but she is doing great! She has about 11 months in the mission. Also there at the activity we had a few fun things that we did, also a testimony meeting. and after that we went to the temple! OH man! I love the temple! I first spent a bit of time doing confirmations and after I got to go through a session with all the missionaries and President George. It was a day to remember. haha When we got to our house that night we were very tired! And I asked Elder De Jesus ¨elder do you have the keys?¨and he said ¨no its your day to have the keys¨, I started looking for they keys in a panic because I thought he had them. I looked through all my pockets and all through my bag and I didn't have them. ¨Elder, I don't have the keys you have them¨ haha then he started going through all his pockets and his bags, ¨elder! I don't have them either..... ¨ oh crap! its really late and we don't have the keys, how are we gonna get in????? we sat down for a second because we just didn't know what we were gonna do, and we had no idea where the keys were! Chapletepech, where the temple is, is about 20 to 30 minutes away. So we knew we couldn't go back there. Then I had a idea haha, our back door is unlocked because we forgot to lock it, and the window is broken so we could slide our hand through it and open the door! but... the only thing is how are we gonna get up to our house? We live above someone. So we quietly asked our neighbors who are always awake if we could pass through their house and then walk to the back of our house through theirs. Well we did that, but we thought how are we gonna get up to our house??? so in the dark we looked around for something we could use, and just to our luck we found a small ladder. haha so we used the ladder to get half way up our house and then jump from the ladder to grab our ledge, from there we could lift ourselves up hahaha, well we finally got into our house and the best part is that we did it in our suits hahhaha. I felt so ninja. Well, the next morning we called the assistants and they said they found our keys so tha was a relief, the only thing is that we had to go back to the temple to get them and go all the way, so that was a bit of a bummer, but it's all good. We have our keys(: Well the family wasn't able to get married.  It was a bummer so were gonna wait till January in about 2 to 3 weeks to see if we can get them married. But their son was able to  be baptized  (: so we had a baptism on Saturday and I baptized him.  His name is Christian. Wow! I'm so happy that he made this decision. I have seriously been looking forward to his baptism because when I started the mission, Elder Muñoz and I were teaching his mom.  She had the desire to be baptized and had a date to be baptized the first week in October, but she didn't want to get married, so she didn't get baptized. and Christian at the time didn't want to listen to us.  He didn't believe in God at all. But at the time he wouldn't talk to us. But I think he always listened to us. Their house is really small.  It only has two rooms. The house is about the size of my kitchen back at home. Very small. So he would always watch TV . During that time I think he learned a lot. One evening we started teaching the family and Elder Muñoz and I told him we wanted to talk with him too.  He said no because He didn't believe in God. Elder Muñoz and I took off our badges and said that we weren't gonna be missionaries for the time we were there. We just wanted to talk like friends with the family. He grumpily said OK and we started talking. With another few weeks passing by he started attending the table to listen to us but never talked and didn't want to participate. One lesson we had with the family we decided to teach lesson one again because we had taught everything and we thought that the mom didn't really remember much of it. To our surprise she didn't, so it was a great opportunity. We started to ask questions about if she remembered who Joseph Smith is and what are the role of prophets, also we asked if she remembered what the great apostasy is. She didn't remember but Christan started to speak and was able to answer all of the questions. WOW he knew and understood what everything was. I have never seen an investigator be able to remember so well what we taught. His mom was shocked because he knew way more than she did! Also the fact that he had been listening. Ever since he started to pay more attention, and he slowly started to grow in faith. two weeks ago his prayers started to seem more real! He is amazing and he has changed a ton! He has seen so many blessings in his life and in his family. Their family is amazing and always attend church and always want to hear more from us. He has been so happy that he has God in his life. He was atheist and now a Mormon. He is amazing and I'm never gonna forget him or his family. We have a date in January for the baptism for his mother, She asked Elder De Jesus to baptize her, so we are just waiting now.(:
Other things this week (: haha on Sunday I gave a talk, it was my first talk here in the mission. I was so scared hahaha the first minute in the talk I was shaking a bit, but after that I was fine, I was scared because I had to talk in Spanish, haha but I know more Spanish than I think I do. My Spanish wasn't perfect at all but the people knew exactly what I was saying. So it was a great experience. I talked about the blessings of missionary work. So I talked a lot about the importance of member missionaries, I shared a few stories that I had in the ward. and I also talked about the language and how its my spiritual language and how blessed I feel that I have the oppurtunity to learn it. I also talked about my father and that he also served a mission in Spain, Madrid and talked about the blessings in his life and how it had affected me, especially that we both speak Spanish and how happy we are.
Other than that things have been pretty chill here in Tuxtla.  It's cooled off a bit since October but its still very hot hahaha. The sun is very hot haha. Well, I think that's about it for me this week. I'm exited to see how this week will be, and also exited to see how all of you are doing(:

Well this week has been a pretty good week. I first want to start out with a family that is preparing for baptism this week! ohhhh man I'm so exited! And I cant wait! Today we are helping them get the papers for marriage, they still haven't gotten married but we are working on that right now, their baptism is still planned for this Saturday. There have been many prayers offered for their baptism and that they will be able to do so. Its been truly a blessing teaching them and I am learning so much!  This week we also had a Christmas stake party haha wow! It was really fun! they youth put on a dance show for all of us and they did really good! haha and then there was a little kid maybe 5 or 6 years that was dressed in a clown costume and danced extremely good haha it was the best thing I have ever seen! Tomorrow we have the mission Christmas party from 8 in the morning until 6 in the afternoon. We are also gonna go to the temple ! whoohoo I get to go again for the 3rd time here! I feel very blessed to do so.  Also on Saturday night (the night of my parents Anniversary (: ps Congratulations Mom and Dad I Os Amo mucho! ) at the plaza Cristal which is the bit mall in Tuxtla, the stake choir was putting on a choir performance and so president wanted all the missionaries in Tuxtla to go to the mall and contact and invite people to watch the choir! It was really awesome haha tons of people and tons of missionaries. I think all the people got contacted! Elder De Jesus and I made about 50 contacts in 1 hour an a half. It was a really great experience! I've been learning a lot! Family and friends I love you tons.  Take care os amo! cuidanse mucho!

2nd Week in Diciembre
Wow this week has been full of memories and changes(: To start of the week, last Monday we bought a small Christmas tree haha its the best little thing ever and we have the presents that my mom sent me under the tree so it turned out perfect haha.  (: Wow this week we went to the temple of Friday, wow every time I go to the temple I learn so much, I'm also getting better at understanding the Spanish, I can understand everything that's going on(:  Wow this week we had a Elder named Elder Ibarra come on live with us for 3 days, wow He is incredible he brings the spirit with him and is an EXACTLY obedient missionary, He is the Assistant to the president right now and is a traveling assistant. right now he is visiting a lot of missionaries and training them(: He really changed the way I think about things here, I have so much excitement about the work here its the best thing ever, Also there's a story that is amazing and that I wont ever forget. Well my leader of the mission served as president in panama mission and well he is in  my ward right now. Elder Ibarra is from Panama and when he came to help us I asked him if he new brother Madrigal, and his face lit up and said ¨ wow! you know president Madrigal, wow I want to meet him¨haha well the next morning we had our reunion with our leader of our ward. During it he asked Elder Ibarra where he is from, after a few funny jokes of where he was he said he is from Panama and that he is really exited to meet him. Brother Madrigal was super exited and asked more about him. Elder Ibarra told him that a missionary that served the time Madrigal was president baptized him. WOW  after he said that he asked who his name was. ¨the missionary that baptized me is Elder Ulloa¨( I cant remember exactly his name but I think its this) ....... brother madrigal was silent and began to cry...he said ¨¨ I was a little sad when he ended his mission, he was a great missionary and helped me a lot in the office, when He ended his mission he only had One baptism¨ after he said that the room was silent only with the sound of happy tears. ´´I am that baptism, Ibarra said. and many more have come since¨ well I just think that that was one of the best stories ever and I'm so glad I got to hear it, Elder Ibarra is great(: he taught me so much. I have such a strong testimony right now and I'm growing it more day by day, wow what a great week, Oh! and with this Christmas we have been sharing the new video of Christmas that the church came out with, wow! its amazing; i don't know what its called in English but he its called . él es la Dádiva. with means He is the Gift. Davida is a special gift. its been such a great blessing here in the mission. We have a family that accepted this Dádiva and is going to be baptized on the 20th of Diciembre! the dad is a less active member and the family is not baptized! wow this week they are getting married so they can be baptized on the 20th and He preparing himself right now to baptize them, it has been the most special week and most special time for the family right now(: I have been filled with so much happiness. wow! the spirit is so real! wow! accept the Dádiva in every aspect of you life! I unfortunately don't have anymore time, I need to go to work, thank you everyone I love you all(:

December 1, 2014
This week has been great! well to start of las hermanas tenían una Bautismo! pues I'm gonna count is as one of my baptisms too haha Elder Muñoz started to teach him and when the hermanas came we gave them half of our area, entonces we gave them have of our investigadores. El se Llama Gil... he is really great! as the district leader I interviewed him for baptism oh man! it was the coolest experience ever! My first interview haha it was really good and long! I don't know how long we were in there but we took along time! We were just talking too much and I was sharing a lot of scriptures and bearing my testimony a lot during it. The spirit was so strong in the interview and we also talked a lot about each question. I'm never gonna forget the experience. Oh! and yes I found him worthy to be baptized (: Hermano Sanches baptized him and I confirmed him a member, what a great experience. We had a open house for the church building because its new, its was for people to come and see how we do things, wow we only had 11 investigators that came, but wow! the ward really supported, it was like a expo haha we had two wards there with like all the members, so we had a lot of support and it turned out being really good. A family in the area of the hermanas came in because they saw something was going on and was interested and wow they got very interested!
Well for the questions my family asked. How many investigators do you have? Haha it depends, we have a lot of investigators but we only have four families and many other individuals that we are teaching, we had a 17 year old boy attend church this week! which means he is the only investigator that is technically progressing, but wow he is amazing he has been very scared about attending church became for the longest time he did not believe in God and is slowly growing in faith! He now is very interested in the priesthood and our church. We will be focusing on him. Other families I will write about later(: there are so many churches here its crazy! the biggest one is Catholics and second is Jehovah Witnesses , and than theres the Septimo Dia, and haha I don't even know!! But there are some really weird churches here that I have never seen or heard before.. Well the second question. are you dreaming in Spanish? well I don't know haha I don't really remember my dreams. I remember dreaming in Spanish in the MTC and it was really weird. But I'm starting to wake up and only think in Spanish so I think it counts (:. Earthquakes? I've felt some really small ones, but nothing major. I was sitting in a lesson and it only felt like a train was passing by without the sound. But not much here. how much do you weigh? to be honest I don't know.... there's no scales here haha I will find one soon, but I'm getting fat!!!! I know that much! I can grab my stomach!, Do you play soccer with the kids? not much, people play soccer in the streets EVERY day, and I sometimes kick it back to them..... hahahaha. are you going to by a Christmas tree? I don't know maybe haha only if Elder De Jesus wants to(: I think we will.(: Have you ridden nacho libre motorcycles? no, only combis wich are a like a public van and taxis. I know that down in the coast they only have the small little motos, so I will wait(:. Well thank you all for who you are, I love you all and miss you! wow its crazy to think that iv been gone for 5 months!!!!!!!! wow!
